A Note from the Fish King

A new direction

Stacks Of is becoming a place that helps ACEO artists grow, not a place to scroll listings. Here is what changed, and why.

Why

Most of the ACEO community isn't here for numbers. Collectors want to find art that moves them. Artists want to make it, and to know their work can find a home.

A wall of live listings and listing counts didn't help with either. It rarely told an artist anything kind or useful about the market. So I'm focusing on what actually sells, and on the things that help artists keep making.

What Changed

  • Prices come from completed sales. Every category shows what original cards actually sold for, recent sales and standouts. We no longer show how many cards are listed.
  • Cards open straight on eBay. Tap a card and you land on the listing itself.
  • The Gallery is retired, along with sketch-card and Etsy browsing. Etsy finds still appear in the gift guides.
  • State pages show what artists sold in each state, alongside the local art communities.
  • The market report, the daily cheat sheet and the $100 Club all run on sales.

What's Coming

Worksheets and activity books for the work around the art: getting noticed, marketing yourself, building a routine that sticks, pricing commissions, and hosting an ACEO making night or card swap. Tools for growing a community.

Make the cards. The rest is a process, and a process can be learned.
